The ruins of Ephesus are thought to date as far back as 6 000 BC when the Roman city was one of the Empire's most important settlements. The collection of UNESCO-protected marble ruins here ticks off everything from a huge amphitheatre and a pillar-fronted library to small stone houses and mansions with mosaics. You'll see them all during this tour. You'll meet your guide at the port and travel together to Ephesus. Then you'll have two-and-a-half hours to stroll through the city's 8 000-year-old streets and snap some photos of its main attractions. Next you'll follow your guide for a look at some of Ephesus' terraced houses. Some of the city's richest residents called these former mansions home. Their mosaic floors marble panels and wall art are still visible and you'll hear what life was like in the city in its heyday. Afterwards you'll have 15 minutes to get any last-minute pictures at Ephesus' lower entrance to capture those memories of one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the world.
