Un po' di storia
As if straight out of a Hans Christian Andersen fairytale, Egeskov Castle is a must when visiting Odense, Denmark. Built in the middle of a lake, the castle is Europe’s best-preserved moat castle and houses the Ahlefeldt family. Admire the Gothic architecture and take prize-worthy pictures of the castle and its reflection off the water.
Inside you can see some of the beautiful chambers and halls, as well as some interesting displays and exhibits. It hosts Europe’s first Camping Outdoor Museum, displays of vintage cars, motorbikes, buses and aircraft. The grounds of the castle offer an award-winning park with many flower gardens and children will love the playground area and labyrinths. Don’t miss out on the festive Christmas Market and other special events throughout the year.
