Perched on the banks of the River Guadiana, where Portugal and Spain meet, Ayamonte blends two cultures into one captivating destination. “Here, every street tells a story of shared history and traditions,” says our local guide María. On arrival, you'll feel the town's Andalusian charm in its sunlit squares, whitewashed buildings, and relaxed riverside atmosphere. With Portugal just across the water, Ayamonte feels like a living bridge between nations, offering a warm welcome and a unique sense of place shaped by centuries of connection.
A guided walk through the medieval quarter reveals narrow streets, colourful tiles, and viewpoints overlooking Portugal's Castro Marim castle, a reminder of past conflicts and cooperation. Your guide brings these stories to life as you explore historic corners and admire the iconic blue and white façades. Afterwards, enjoy free time to sip coffee in the main square, browse local boutiques, or search for handmade treasures in the lively marketplace, soaking up the town's authentic rhythm.
The experience concludes at Vive Ayamonte, a gastro-shop set around a beautiful courtyard. Here, you'll savour a seafood-rich feast of traditional tapas, paella, and local wines. As you eat, live flamenco fills the air, adding passion and energy to the moment. Performed exclusively for your group, this vibrant display turns lunch into a celebration, leaving you with lasting memories of Ayamonte's culture, cuisine, and timeless spirit.
