Visit Lindholm Høje, one of the best-preserved Viking findings of Scandinavia. The archeologic site has an impressive 682 graves and 150 stone ships from both the Germanic Iron Age and the Viking Age. In the Museum you will learn more about the Viking age and their way of life and discover how life was around Limfjord before the Vikings.
Meet your private driver in the morning and enjoy a 20-minute comfortable ride to the park. Enter the park and follow your driver guide who will lead you around the site and through the stone circles indicating the many graves. In the southern part, you can see remains from the Viking age dating back to 1000 A.D. while more north you will find older remains from the Nordic Iron Age in the 5th century A.D. Not only graves have been found in Lindholm Høje, but also remains of a village, once an important settlement at the crossing over the Limfjord.
After exploring the site you will enter the museum to admire the various objects found during the excavation like pots, brooches, and combs. An exhibition will show you what life was like on a Viking farm and the lower floor is all about the ancient times in Lindfjord and displays other finds from the area amongst which Viking weapons. After the museum, your driver-guide will take you back to the city and you can sit back and enjoy the last parts of this interesting and historic day out.
