Meet your driver at the pick-up point in Amman, and head off to Azraq Wetland Reserve, located approximately 115km from Amman.
Once you arrive at the reserve, you will be welcomed by the local community and briefed on your Marash Trail. You'll walk through dry and wetlands to a viewing platform overlooking the artesian pools that once released millions of cubic metres of water into the wetland.
After leaving the platform, the trail takes you over an ancient black basalt wall, most likely built by an Umayyad caliph. The trail then leads to a bird shelter made of local mud bricks where you can observe migratory birds and perhaps spot a water buffalo.
Enjoy some free time at the reserve before departing for Amman.
