Pizzo Calabro has a lot of things going for it – tartufo ice cream, a dramatic location atop a promontory and a sprinkling of historic sites to visit. On this half-day excursion, you'll venture over for an afternoon walking tour around the town and enjoy the dessert it's famous for.
The town's also part of Calabria's Coast of the Gods, so you can expect some top-drawer coastal views as you make your way over. Arrive mid-afternoon, then set off on a relaxed walk around the historic centre. You'll also take in top sights like the Aragonese Castello Murat – a well-preserved medieval fortress – and the Church of Piedigrotta, an underground cave replete with statues.
You'll continue meandering around the centre's cobbled streets that lead from one square to the next, until you reach the main square where we'll end the tour. But there's one last treat – a tartufo ice cream dessert for the real taste of Pizzo.
