With towering mountains, valleys and vast swathes of coconut palms and rainforest, it's no wonder Kerala is dubbed 'God's Own Country' – it's absolutely heavenly. This three-day tour of India's most scenic state sees you explore the historic spice-trading city of Kochi and spend the night aboard a riverboat on the tranquil backwaters of Allepey.
Catch a flight from Goa and you'll check-in for a two-night stay at a Kochi hotel to rest-up ready for a morning of exploring. Head out into the historic port city and we'll tick off sights like the Jewish Synagogue, the Dutch Palace and St. Francis Church – the oldest European church in India. In the evening, a traditional Kathakali dance performance re-enacts stories from the ancient Ramayana texts.
On day three, we'll take a traditional houseboat cruise along the backwaters of Allepey. Passing villages, temples and dense forests, there's a delicious Keralan dinner before bedding down for the night in your cabin. Then waking up to a tasty breakfast and the chirping of birds on the riverbank, you'll be in fine form for your flight back to Goa.
