Poema del Mar in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria presents marine life through three separate zones. The aquarium, which opened in 2017, holds millions of litres of water across its displays.
The aquarium guides you through three distinct marine environments. You'll start in The Jungle zone, which recreates habitats from across the globe, before moving to Arrecife's cylindrical display featuring coral formations and tropical fish in 400,000 litres of water.
Deep Sea forms the centrepiece, with its curved viewing window spanning 36 metres wide and 7.35 metres high. The tank holds 5.5 million litres of water at a depth of 8.5 metres, providing views of deep-ocean species in their recreated habitat.
Poema del Mar operates with a focus on conservation and sustainable practices, holding certification from the Global Humane Society for animal welfare.
