What to expect

Take a half-day trip to the Sierra Negra Volcano, considered the oldest of the Isabela volcanos.

The tour starts early in the morning from the starting point which is 30 minutes from Puerto Villamil, where the trail that leads to the Sierra Negra volcano begins. You'll walk for about 5 hours on the volcano, while you admire the spectacular landscape and try to spot the rich wildlife of the area. Most of the journey is flat, with few ups and downs.

You'll then enter the small volcano, which is inside the crater of the Sierra Negra Volcano, where many holes feel warm when you put your hand in.
