The inside story

For a rewarding trip to the great outdoors, a visit to Grand Teton National Park is a must. Located in northwest Wyoming a few miles south of Yellowstone National Park and just north of Jackson Hole, the park is a prime destination for outdoor enthusiasts! Well over 3 million visitors make their way annually to visit this national treasure.

The park was established in 1929 to protect the major peaks of the 40-mile-long (64 km) Teton Range, which are among the youngest mountains in the Rocky Mountains. Grand Teton National Park gets its name from Grand Teton, the highest peak (13,770 feet above sea level) within the Teton mountain range. With approximately 310,000 acres of valleys, meadows, lakes, and mountains, this scenic national park is great to explore from May to September.

Grand Teton National Park has over 200 miles of hiking trails for you to explore, such as Grand View Point which offers panoramic views of the park and Jackson Hole. The windy Snake River, the largest river at Grand Teton, is a popular rafting location. There are also several popular fishing and camping sites.

During your visit, you're also likely to encounter wildlife, including beavers, moose, eagles, antelope, elk, and more. Due to its variety of altitudes, the park contains over 1,000 species of plants from the frozen tundra to the forest and even wetlands.

Venture off the beaten path of Yellowstone National Park to discover all that Grand Teton National Park has to offer!
