Take a fascinating route to the underground Königsberg, shrouded by legends.
There are numerous legends about the underground of Königsberg: there are huge dungeons under Königsberg. The forts are connected to modern command posts by tunnels, which also lead to the most important suburban facilities, underground workshops and factories, hospitals and oil storage facilities. Numerous treasures, including the Amber room, are hidden in the dungeons. During the tour, you will learn about the history of the Royal castle with its complex system of underground passages. The castle was connected by secret tunnels to other strategically important sites in the city. You will see the most powerful fortifications that guarded the city: Fort No. 3, with its dark labyrinths and passages. The Fort is impressive in size, it is the largest of all 15 forts in Königsberg. It is an elongated pentagon, built of red brick, with a thick layer of earth on top of it. The trees planted on top served as a disguise, so if you look at the Fort from a distance, it seems only a grove on a hill. The fact that the Fort was built first in the system of the encircling front of the city affected its size. There is a fairly deep dry moat around the Fort.
You will then drive up to the famous underground bunker of Otto von Lash, which was included in the history books because of the surrender of Königsberg to the Soviet troops in April 1945. It was here, that the headquarter of the defenses of Königsberg was located. And perhaps also the lost Amber room…
