What to expect

With plenty of sunshine, a cool sea breeze from the east and fresh alpine air from the west, the Veneto region produces some of the finest olive oil, wine and prosciutto in Italy. Get your fill of typical treats with this tasting tour of the Verona countryside.

First up, you'll discover the secrets of olive oil making. Welcomed by a member of the family, you'll take a guided tour of the factory and discover the history of the estate. Moving on, you'll head to the sun-ripened hillsides of Soave to stop at a vineyard. You'll taste all their flavours of wine alongside perfect pairings of soppressa salami, monte veronese cheese and local olives.

Next, you'll travel to the medieval town of Montagnana, which incidentally is one of Italy's ‘borghi più belli' (most beautiful towns) – and famed for its Prosciutto Veneto PDO. Amble around during some free time, taking in the fortified city walls and castle, eventually reaching in a prosciutto factory for a tour and tasting. Whatever happens on this tour, you definitely won't leave hungry.
