Step inside the Lumeum art centre and explore the world of Niklaus and Dorothee Flüe through a 360° light show that blends light, music, and moving images. The immersive setting draws you into their story as it unfolds around you.
Across approximately 30 minutes, the projection surrounds the space, creating the feeling of standing within their 15th‑century world. Niklaus von Flüe was known as a politician, family man, and later a hermit who withdrew to Ranft after following his inner calling. Together with his wife Dorothee Wyss, he managed a farm in Flüeli, where they raised their ten children. When Niklaus retreated into solitude, Dorothee took responsibility for the household and farm. Her strength and independence were central to sustaining family life during this period. Today, she is remembered for her own spiritual depth, trust, and resilience, qualities that shaped her path as much as her husband’s.
The light show brings their stories to life inside the refurbished indoor pool of the Bethanien Monastery, offering a way to experience their lives and legacy through an immersive format.
