Enjoy a speed boat trip while you observe whales and dolphins in their natural environment. This is a respectful whale-watching tour, so be aware that you'll be the guests out there. Your guide will not only show you whales and dolphins in their natural environment but also explain interesting facts about them and their habitat.

The zodiac’s powerful but silent engines cause little disturbance to the sensitive hearing of whales and dolphins, allowing close encounters. You'll be able to cover large search areas during the trip, giving you the advantage of reaching animals at far distances.

Meeting point:

Meet your guide at Lobosonda Info Center at the Harbor of Calheta 30 minutes before departure time. Please enter and proceed to check in at the reception desk.

What to remember

The minimum age for participation in this tour is 5 years
You can choose between a shared tour or a private tour. The price for the private tour includes up to 12 people. If you want to book the shared tour, please note that you need to select at least one adult ticket before adding any child tickets to the cart
Please arrive at the meeting point 30 min before the tour. All tours include a short briefing on safety and security. Please go in and proceed to check in at the reception desk
Note that your personal belongings can be left in the supplier's shop on-site
Please bring a windbreaker/warm jacket, water to drink, comfortable clothing, sunglasses & sunhat (optional), a towel, that can be used if the seats get too hot from the sun, and a camera or GoPro camera (optional)
Parking: Please use the Parking Garage at the end of the marina. It's open 24hrs and is the easiest to park your car, especially in the summer months
The shared tour runs with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 participants (+ 2 crew members)
If the shared tour has to be canceled due to a lack of participants you'll be notified by text message up to 3 hours before the start of the tour
Should the local operator decide to cancel the private or shared tour due to bad weather conditions (this is a decision of the captain/spotter), this can be done up until the planned start of the tour. A new date will be offered. If this is not possible, the total amount is refunded
