On this exclusive private tour, you'll combine Madeiran wine and countryside with some thrilling off-road adventures. You'll journey along rugged mountain roads to Cabo Girão and the São Vicente valley, then stop for a wine tasting session at Quinta do Barbusano vineyard. First up is the drive towards the immense wall of Cabo Girão, one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe. Soak up some impressive views over the ocean waves breaking 580 metres below, then continue off-roading along quiet side roads and tracks that snake their way through São Vicente valley. Dominated by the hilltop chapel of Nossa Senhora de Fátima, the whole valley is a postcard brought to life. Red-roofed farms and villages dot the lower slopes which rise to verdant peaks all around.
Finally, it's on to Quinta do Barbusano, a key local winery. You'll be treated to a tour of the hilly vineyards with an oenologist followed by a tasting of one rosé, two white and two red wines, and some nibbles. Drinking in the glorious views while you try the various wines is a great finale to your adventure.
