If Malta's medieval cities are beautiful by day, wait till you see them at night. Thanks to clever lighting, the beige sandstone takes on brilliant golden hues that light up the evening. You'll explore Valletta's Grand Harbour and the inland town of Mdina under the stars.
The Grand Harbour waterfront is magically lit up. You'll be guided around Valletta's hsitoric streets and quays, where the Knights of Malta first settled in 1530. The capital has been famed for its beautiful baroque architecture ever since the rule of Grand Master Pinto in the mid-18th century. We'll also explore Birgu waterfront, across the Grand Harbour, where the light reflects off the water, enhancing the glow.
You'll then head inland to walled Mdina, also known as the ‘Silent City'. Lamp lit at night, you'll see it from a distance gleaming in the darkness of the countryside. Trace its history through the cobbled streets and well-preserved churches and palaces.
