Hike on Mānoa Falls Trail, renewed in the early 2021, making it wider and easy to walk, and suitable also for beginners; and on Diamond Head crater trail.
Mānoa Falls Trail will take you deep into the rainforest of the Mānoa Valley beneath the Ko'olau Range; just a 20 minutes drive from Waikiki. The trail is 1.6 miles roundtrip and the hike takes 1 to 2 hours depending on your fitness and how muddy the trail is. While walking, you will encounter enormous prehistoric ferns, native Hawaiian species and the snaking roots of the giant banyan trees. Some scenes of the of Jurassic Park movies were filmed here. After 30-40 minutes of walking, you will reach the 100-feett Mānoa Falls; enjoy the cool and refreshing view of the waterfall before heading back to the starting point.
Your day will continue with a hike on Diamond Head crater trail, 1.6 miles roundtrip, that will take you about 30-40 minutes each way, it's a trail for beginners, and it's suitable for people of all ages. On the top of Diamond Head, you will admire a 360-degree panoramic view of Waikiki and the vast ocean.
