Your adventure begins with a journey to Tortuguero Camp, an ecological reserve just a short distance from Puerto Escondido. This sanctuary is dedicated to the protection and conservation of various species of sea turtles. Here, you'll witness the meticulous management of turtle eggs and learn about the vital conservation work being carried out. You'll also get a comprehensive evaluation of the nesting corrals in the area.
The next part of your journey takes you out to sea, where under the guidance of a tour guide, you'll have the opportunity to release baby turtles into the wild. Watch as these tiny creatures make their way into the water and disappear into the depths of the ocean. This is also a great chance to soak up the beautiful scenery and capture some memorable photographs.
The excursion continues to a community known as "Las Negras". Here, you'll board a boat that will take you into a lagoon. A short trip later, you'll find yourself in the midst of a spectacular natural phenomenon - bioluminescence. It's akin to witnessing shooting stars in the water; millions of microorganisms emit light upon contact, creating a mesmerising display. As you step off the boat and into the water, you'll feel the magic against your skin. Swimming and immersing yourself in this incredible place, interacting with this natural wonder, is an experience you won’t soon forget.
