Kick off your private shore excursion with a handy pick-up straight from Sakaiminato Cruise Terminal. You'll have the luxury of travelling in your own private vehicle, complete with a dedicated professional driver. This allows you to explore at your leisure, free from the constraints of other travellers' schedules.
Your first stop is Mizuki Shigeru Road, an extraordinary street devoted to the universe of acclaimed manga artist Shigeru Mizuki. Take a leisurely walk among numerous bronze statues of characters from GeGeGe no Kitaro, peruse themed shops, and soak up the whimsical atmosphere of one of Sakaiminato’s most celebrated attractions.
Next, make your way to Miho Shrine, a historic Shinto shrine nestled in the delightful port town of Mihonoseki. Recognised as the primary shrine dedicated to Ebisu, the deity linked with fishing, prosperity, and good fortune, this shrine provides a tranquil insight into Japan’s traditional spiritual culture.
If time allows, pay a visit to Sakaiminato Fish Centre, where you can browse fresh seafood and local products from the Sea of Japan. After exploring the highlights around Sakaiminato, a driver will ensure you're back at Sakaiminato Cruise Terminal in plenty of time for your ship’s departure.
