Meet your coordinator and travel by private transfer to the Cocora Valley. Along the way, you'll pass through the Coffee Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On arrival, you'll be welcomed with a traditional canelazo drink before setting off on a trek through one of Colombia's most recognisable natural areas. As you explore the valley, you'll see the wax palm, Colombia's national tree and the tallest palm species in the world. The tour continues at the Cocora Natural Reserve, where an eco-guide will introduce you to the area's native flora and fauna. You'll also take part in the Quindío Wax Palm Ritual, learning about the importance of this tree to local communities before symbolically planting young wax palms.
Next, you'll head to the colourful town of Salento for a guided walk. Stroll through its streets and enjoy some free time to browse its craft shops and cafés at your own pace.
The journey then continues to Filandia, where you'll visit the historic centre and the Quindío Viewpoint, with entrance included. Here, you'll discover local basket-weaving workshops and have the chance to see and shop for handcrafted products. Before returning to Pereira, you'll round off the experience with a gastronomic tasting.
