Start your adventure in the village of Bambú, where your local guide will meet you. Hop into a traditional indigenous canoe steered by an experienced boat crew from the village and sail down the beautiful Yorkín River, the natural border between Costa Rica and Panama. After about an hour, arrive at Yorkín and explore the village by foot. See organic cacao and banana plantations, and enjoy a snack. Visit the Skui River and the hanging bridge, where you can stop for a refreshing swim in the water (weather permitting). Later, have a typical Bribri lunch, followed by a presentation all about the traditional way of making chocolate! Continue immersing yourself in the traditional way of life as you discover how to use a bow and arrow and how to weave leaves into a traditional roof. Wind down your visit with a chance to learn more about the STIBRAWPA organization and its mission and impact before heading back to Bambú by canoe.
