Things to do in Reggio Calabria

Reggio Calabria is located in the heart of the Mediterranean, between the sea and the mountain. It is a land full of perfumes and colors. Formally known as "Calabria Prima Prima", the province of Reggio Calabria has the highest population density in the region. West facing the Tyrrhenian Sea, to the South and East to the Ionian, to the north east bounded with Catanzaro and to the northwest with Vibo Valentia. To the southwest is only 3.2 kilometers from Sicily.A characteristic feature of the province is the area of the Tyrrhenian coast, with the terraces built on the hillsides over the sea. This stretch is called Costa Viola, due to the reflexes that mainly sunset color the sea. Much of the area of Reggio Calabria is made up of the Aspromonte National Park, with acres of pine forests on the Tyrrhenian side and Ionian beeches.
