What to expect

Explore Chinatown and Alcatraz island with this tour! Your local guide will introduce you to the largest Chinatown outside of Asia. You will stroll through the narrow streets of Grant Avenue and enter traditional bakeries, pharmacies where Eastern medicine is practiced and many local shops. You will then reach the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory where you will taste a recently baked Fortune Cookie and learn about the handmade production of these famous cookies.

After the visit to the Factory, you will leave Chinatown and reach Little Italy. During your walk, you will pass by the café where Francis Ford Coppola used to drink his coffee while writing the screenplays for "The Godfather". You will enjoy a pause for lunch in this tasty neighborhood and then proceed towards Alcatraz.

You will reach Alcatraz by ferry and enjoy some time to explore the island at your own pace. During your exploration, you will enjoy an audio guided tour and learn about the stories of the island narrated by former inmates and correctional officers.
