During this tour you will visit the ancient capital city of Georgia the city of Mtshkheta, which is just 20 km from Tbilisi. Here you will see wonderful UNESCO heritage monuments: the Jvari monastery of the 7th century, with beautiful views on the confluence of two rivers Mtkvari and Aragvi, and the Svetisckhoveli cathedral of the 11th century, an architectural masterpiece of the Georgian Renaissance.
After that you will set off for the West of the country to the city of Gori, “the apple capital” of Georgia. The city is famous for its fertility and for being the home town of Joseph Stalin. Here you will make an excursion to the house-museum of famous dictator.
After 20 minutes you will arrive to Uplistsikhe, the most ancient cave city in Georgia, which was founded in the II millennium B.C. Here you will have a walk to the caves and see how people used to live here in the ancient times. Close to the cave-city there is the beautiful church Ateni Sioni of the 7th century. The church is famous due to its unique frescoes.
