Kick off your private shore excursion from Akita Cruise Port. Enjoy the comfort of your own personal transport, free from the constraints of a larger group's schedule.
Your first stop is Senshu Park, previously home to Kubota Castle and a historical site linked to the Satake clan. Take a leisurely walk through this tranquil park and uncover remnants of Akita’s samurai-era past. From there, proceed to the Akita City Folk Performing Arts Heritage Centre, also known as Neburi Nagashi Kan. Immerse yourself in Akita’s traditional festivals and performing arts, including the renowned Akita Kanto Festival, via engaging displays and exhibits.
Following this, pay a visit to the Akita Castle History Museum and the restored East Gate of ancient Akita Castle. Delve into the history of this significant administrative and military hub established in northern Japan over 1,000 years ago. If time allows, make a pit stop at Akita Port Tower Selion before making your way back to Akita Cruise Port.
