Museo della Calzatura (footwear museum) of Villa Foscarini Rossi is located along the banks of the river Brenta, inside a 17th century historical residence. The more than 700 m² of exhibition space houses more than 1,500 luxury women's models, produced by the Rossimoda shoe factory in collaboration with the most prestigious fashion houses on the international scene.
Inaugurated in 1995, the Museum has the aim of spreading the knowledge of the footwear tradition of the Riviera del Brenta and documenting the evolution of costume and fashion in the second half of the twentieth century through the "footwear" accessory. Tourists passing through, inebriated by the harmony, creativity and mastery that distinguish the Made in Italy product, will find these values also in the historical architectural structures and in the perspective games of the wonderful seventeenth-century frescoes of the Foresteria, created by Domenico de' Bruni and Pietro Liberi. Worthy of note is also the historical physical and digital archive of over 17,500 shoes, a valid support and continuous source of inspiration for local companies in their constant research activities.
