The Jewish Museum of Venice is characterized by a unique architectural museum complex. What was the first ghetto of Europe, is now a dynamic and frequented district of the city, where even today there are the Jewish religious and administrative institutions and the five synagogues founded between the 16th and 17th centuries by different ethnic groups present in the city.
In the museum, you will discover valuable objects, sacred furnishings, wedding contracts, silverware of various types and origin and Jewish ritual objects. You can also explore a new area dedicated to the history and culture of Venetian Jews in particular.
Respecting the physical distance between people, you can admire the old German school, founded in 1528 and the Scola Canton. You can also enter the nineteenth-century 'hut' and watch the video installation 'La Sukkà di Aldo' by Luis Damian Lopez, which tells the festive celebration of Sukkot through thirty years of photographic shots, a festive chronicle of the Community of Venice in recent times and finally visit the exhibition 'Dream and Surreal' by Igor Skaletsky.
