Just off the coast of Galicia, Cíes Islands feels like a world apart from mainland Spain. Part of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park, this protected archipelago is known for its white sand beaches, turquoise waters and rugged cliffs, where seabirds soar above untouched landscapes. With visitor numbers carefully limited each day, the islands remain one of Spain’s best-preserved natural escapes.
You can follow scenic walking trails to dramatic viewpoints, relax on the famous Rodas Beach, or swim in some of the clearest waters in Galicia. Birdwatching is also popular, with large colonies of yellow-legged gulls and European shags nesting across the islands.
