On this tour, you will discover 2 different sides of Warsaw: postcard-like streets and squares of the Old Town and artistic Praga district. A faithful and painstaking reconstruction of the historic part of the city versus the authentic buildings that survived WWII. These contrasts are not far from each other, though separated by the river.
You will meet the guide next to the Sigismund Column (Kolumna Zygmunta) at the Castle square. The guide will tell you stories and anecdotes about Warsaw, founded at the beginning of the 14th century, focusing on the historic building of the Old Town such as the Royal Castle, the Cathedral, the Barbican. You can hear some legends about the mermaid and Bazyliszek.
After the walking tour of the Old Town you will take a tram to discover Praga – the neighborhood on the right bank of the river. You will see that Warsaw is very diversified and that this part of the city has a completely different spirit. The guide will show hidden treasures in the neglected backyards, some popular bars and one of the oldest markets in Warsaw. You will also discover street art and art installations. When you get hungry, you will have a chance to try Praga’s specialty, called “pyzy”. The final point of the tour will be the former vodka factory “Koneser” where you can visit a unique vodka museum after the tour.
