This adventure takes you through the rugged hillsides of Serra da Arada, in the heart of the Magic Mountains, traversing the villages of São Macário on a 4×4 vehicle.
Your journey begins in Arouca, within the confines of the UNESCO Global Geopark. Here, you'll meet your guide, who will navigate the 4×4 off-road vehicle across the Freita Mountain. As you traverse the mountainous landscape, your guide will highlight its interesting aspects. Along the way, there will be ample opportunities to relax, capture photos of the impressive views, and delve into the culture and history of the area. In certain locations, you might even catch a glimpse of the ocean.
The tour includes a visit to the hill and hermitage of São Macário and two traditional mountain villages—Pena and Covas do Monte. Nestled at the foot of the mountains, these villages have typical schist and slate houses set against a beautiful natural backdrop. The green landscape is dotted with herds of goats and cows, creating a bucolic scenery.
