The Elgin Valley is located approximately one hour to the east of Cape Town, over Sir Lowry’s mountain pass. It is known for its cool-climate wines and produces 60% of South Africa's apple crop.
Your tour will start with an olive and olive oil tasting at Morgenster. The next stop is the well-liked Peregrine Farmstall for some coffee and rusks and to explore the many locally-produced farm goods, from fresh local apples to preserves and cheeses, to honey and chocolates.
Then we continue with a visit to one of the many boutique wine farms in the Elgin Valley. Here you will taste some of the best wines this region has to offer, from crips whites to elegant reds and renowned M.C.C. ( sparkling wine). Lunch is for the client's own account and we recommend tapas at South Hill Vineyards or SALT at Paul Cluver.
We will stop at the popular Elgin Railway market, to taste freshly made apple cider and visit with the locals.
