Your journey begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco, followed by a transfer to the Pisac area. Upon arrival at the Cuyo Chico Community, you're greeted with a warm traditional welcome adorned with local flowers. You're then introduced to the natural materials utilised by the community and learn about their cultural significance before participating in an engaging artisanal craft activity. The day continues at the “Sounds of the Andes” Interpretation Centre, where you delve into the importance of ancestral sounds and music in Andean culture, gaining a deeper understanding of local traditions and heritage. Your first day concludes with an overnight stay in the Sacred Valley.
The second day commences with a pick-up from your hotel in the Sacred Valley, leading to a transfer to the rural community of Huilloc. Accompanied by a professional guide, you arrive at this Andean community nestled in the province of Urubamba. Here, you partake in Kusi Runa, a traditional Inca practice centred around agricultural life (chakra). A local interpreter welcomes you and escorts you to a community member's home, where you're offered a soothing muña herbal infusion.
In a symbolic gesture of integration, you're dressed in traditional Huilloc attire and invited to use ancestral farming tools. Men engage in agricultural activities while women prepare a meal using organic local products. This immersive experience culminates in a spiritual ritual featuring traditional music and dance, providing an authentic insight into the Andean way of life. Savour a home-cooked Andean lunch prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients at a community member’s home. After this enrichening experience, you're transferred back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley or Cusco.
