Embark on a journey from your hotel in Cusco to the warm district of Lamay, nestled within the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Here, you'll explore the Sirenachayoq Waterfall, named "with little mermaid" in Quechua due to local legends of mermaids residing in its waters. A short 20-minute stroll through verdant trails leads you to this waterfall, famed for its purported healing properties. Regardless of legend or belief, the soothing sound of cascading water and the envelopment of nature provide a tranquil atmosphere.
Your adventure continues to Yanahuara, home to a hummingbird garden dedicated to these emblematic birds native to the Americas. You'll have the chance to observe up to eight species of hummingbirds, admire their swift flight, and even feed them. This immersive experience lasts approximately an hour before you return to your accommodation in the Sacred Valley.
The following morning, you'll be transferred from your hotel in the Sacred Valley to Chinchero, a delightful Inca town celebrated for its traditional textile and handicraft techniques. Absorb knowledge about ancestral weaving methods, take in panoramic views of the Sacred Valley, and visit the exquisite colonial chapel. From Chinchero, embark on a scenic walk to Urquillos, a town perched at 2,980 meters above sea level where Inca terraces, ancient temples, and colonial haciendas are beautifully preserved. Enjoy a box lunch along the route before being transferred back to your hotel in either Cusco or the Sacred Valley.
