First, you will be picked up from your hotel in Delhi and driven to Agra. The drive will take around three hours and upon reaching Agra, your first stop will be the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Taj Mahal. Ironically, this beautiful structure was the outcome of the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan’s grief, for his deceased wife. He built the Taj Mahal as a tribute to her. Built in white marble, inlaid with precious stones, the Taj Mahal shelters Shah Jahan and Mumtaz, who lie united in death here. Then, you will go to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Agra Fort, built in 1571 by the Mughal Emperor, Akbar. Combining the Islamic and Hindu styles of architecture, this mammoth structure in red sandstone lies on the banks of the River Yamuna. The red sandstone walls run for a length of almost three kilometers. After that, you can satisfy your cravings for Indian flavors over a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, you will be driven back to Delhi, and dropped off at your hotel.
