Konavle district is an area of natural beauties and great contrasts. The central part of it is the rich and fruitful Konavle field, surrounded by hills to the north and the Adriatic Sea to the South. This Tour is imagined as a journey through the magical Dubrovnik countryside. You will be introduced to the history and to the natural beauties of the area while tasting traditional local dishes accompanied by amazing local wines and brandies.
Cavtat is a town which has been proclaimed as the most beautiful small town on the Croatian coast. As you will visit it in the early morning, you will have a coffee in one of the local coffee shops near the sea, enjoying the view and summer breeze. While in Cavtat, you can also visit the Racic Family Mausoleum or the Vlaho Bukovac Gallery. Vlaho Bukovac has been an important figure in the Croatian art scene of the 19th century.
You will then visit Sokol Tower, a fortress of the Dubrovnik Republic, strategically built in the 14th century at the border with the Ottoman Empire. It is situated in the village of Dave on an inaccessible, 25-meter high rock, built to protect the Konavle district from hinterland attacks. This is a viewpoint from where you are going to be able to shoot some breathtaking photos of the whole area.
You will visit Ljuta River, a beautiful creek and natural attraction, where you will feel as if you were in a fairy-tale.
Finally, you will also stop at the Stone Mill in Cilipi. This is a place where time has stopped for real. Here you will meet your host, who will tell you the story of his family and explain the traditional way of food production. You will have the opportunity to taste traditional products, wines, and brandies.
