What to expect

Imagine walking in the footsteps of Jamie and Claire from Outlander, with a local Scottish guide regaling all the gruesome history and stories which inspired Diana Gabaldon.

You will explore some of the most famous Outlander filming locations, such as Midhope Castle, the real-life Lallybroch, Doune Castle, the seat of Clan MacKenzie and the impressive Blackness Castle, the setting for Fort William.

Your guide will give you an insight into the history and stories of each location, making this the perfect trip for those looking for a quick Outlander fix.

Not allowed:

Children under 5 years old cannot take part in the tour

Linlithgow Palace entrance fee (if not pre-purchased)
Culross Palace entrance fee (if not pre-purchased)

Know in advance:

Children under 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult
Adults and students must be over 18 years old at the time of travel
Audio guides are available in Chinese, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian upon request at check-in
All castle entrance ticket is included
When one castle is closed, it will be replaced with Linlithgow Palace (also featured in Outlander)
When both castles are closed, replacements will be Linlithgow Palace and Culross Palace
Modified itinerary when both castles are closed:8:45am:
- 8:45am: Depart Edinburgh
- 9:30-9:40am: Midhope Castle (exterior only)
- 10:15am: Linlithgow Palace (replaces Doune Castle)
- 12:00pm: Callendar House (lunch stop)
- Afternoon: Culross/Culross Palace (replaces Blackness Castle)
- Later: Royal Burgh of Falkland (Inverness in the series)
- View Forth Bridges
- 5:30pm: Return to Edinburgh
