Dalyan is Turkey at its purest. This region of raw natural beauty has it all – fantastic scenery, wildlife and ancient monuments. You'll get to experience a bit of each with this fantastic excursion.
Glide down the River Dalyan on a wildlife-friendly eco-boat, pausing for a few photos of classical Lycian Tombs. Carved into cliffs above the river, they date from about 400 BC. Continue cruising before alighting to hop onto a tractor for a ride to the ruins of ancient Kaunos. Learn about its fascinating history as you wander between sights such as the Roman baths, theatre and Byzantine basilica. The views over the delta are incredible.
Next, feast on a locally sourced lunch at a riverside restaurant. In the afternoon we'll cruise downriver for about an hour until we reach Iztuzu beach. It's a protected nesting ground for endangered loggerhead turtles. Enjoy free time before sailing back to Dalyan on the riverboat.
