The Jhalana Forest Reserve in Jaipur is a 24 sq km sanctuary home to 20 leopards. Jhalana also supports a diverse array of avian life, including raptors such as shikras, white-eyed buzzards and dozens of peacocks. There are lots of deer, blue bulls, snakes and monitor lizards as well.
Jhalana was declared a protected area only in March 2016 and registered jeep safaris were started in May 2017. The safaris are conducted in two shifts; morning and evening. During each shift, only 10 jeeps are allowed inside.
