This sailing course aims at learning in a simple and efficient way.
After a short briefing on the boat, you will head straight out onto the water. Your instructors focus on the most important sailing terms, actions and of course fun during your sailing time. The course runs once a week for three weeks.
Content of the course:
- Basic sailing maneuvers and commands: mooring under the engine, setting sails & recovery on the water, courses to wind, tack, jibe
- Safety-related maneuvers and commands: safety briefing boat & equipment, man overboard maneuver (MOB) - variant 1, reefing sails
- Knotting (eight knots, woven hitch, cleat, bowline, reef knots, sheet rope)
- Territory knowledge (sailing area Kieler Förde, special features, shipping traffic)
- Theory in self-study: The boat, sailing theory, sailing practice, swerving rules, maritime law, nature conservation, safety on the water
- Final examination (practice & theory) for the acquisition of the basic sailing certificate
