You will start this hike outside the Kristiansand Tourist Office and wander through quiet streets to a lovely park between the city and the forest, where you may spot birds, squirrels, and even a deer.
You will then enter the Kristiansand forest (Bymarka), pass Lake Bånetjønn, and climb steep stone steps through a narrow passage. At the top, you will follow a woodland path to Lake Bergvannet, where you can take a break and, if warm, enjoy a refreshing swim.
Afterwards, you will head towards Ravndalen (the Valley of the Raven), stopping at scenic viewpoints. A dramatic precipice will reveal stunning views over Kristiansand and the Skagerrak Sea before you carefully descend into the valley. Once in Ravndalen, you will find refreshments before continuing to the historic park gifted by King Christian IV of Denmark in 1641.
