Ghala Golf Club is the oldest and most popular golf club in Oman. Established in 1971 by Colonel Cooper, the club started out as a modest 9-hole sand course. It has since grown to 250+ members, more than any other club in Oman, and an 18-hole, fully-grassed course. Under the presidency of His Highness Al Sayyid Muhana E'sad Tarik Al Sayid, the course and club are going from strength to strength.Our iconic course, designed by renowned British golfer, Bill Logmuir, is set snugly into a wadi with the dramatic Al Hajar mountains framing the backdrop. Situated in the heart of Muscat, with narrow fairways and sea views, it is a challenge for all skill levels. The clubhouse at Ghala Golf Club, our much loved “19th hole,” is newly renovated providing panoramic views of the 9th, 15th and 18th holes. The bright and relaxing clubhouse is a members-only area, with a comfortable outdoor terrace to enjoy your refreshments.We are happy to say that we continue to be the only club in Muscat that provides free membership to all junior players. The club has been the host of the Oman Nationals Championships since its inception in the 1970's and has been privlegded to host the MENA Tour for the last 4 years.
