Walking through the center of Noto one has the perception that palaces and monuments are living history, man-made works and significant evidence of a history that today tells of vitality and enthusiasm. After the destructive power of the earthquake, Noto fell and was rebuilt, for one always has the opportunity to begin again.
Porta Reale, the city's main entrance, welcomes you to magnificent Noto. You walk along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the only access to stroll among grand buildings and stupendous facades, such as the Church of Santa Chiara and Palazzo Ducezio, the current seat of the municipality.
The majestic Cathedral of St. Nicholas, preceded by a wide three-flight staircase, dominates the entire historic center with its grandeur. The golden color, during the hours of sunset, accentuates the brightness of the limestone that distinguishes the territory of Noto. To conclude the visit there will be a tasting of some of the best delicacies from local companies drawing on the Sicilian gastronomic tradition, while admiring Noto from a wonderful panoramic terrace.
