What to expect

First, you’ll explore the historic center, the largest and best-preserved in South America, in a replica of the trams that circulated in Quito in the first half of the 20th century.

You'll stop by the National Basilica del Voto Church, where your guide will briefly tell you the story of its facade, then move towards the Panecillo hill, an emblematic place of the city home of the 'Winged Virgin', where you can admire beautiful landscapes of the colonial and modern Quito. You'll continue to Plaza de San Francisco, one of the most representative places of the city, from where you'll walk to Plaza Grande, the historical and political center of the city surrounded by innumerable attractions that include the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace and the Church of the Company.

The tour continues to the traditional neighborhood of La Ronda, where you can find workshops of Ecuadorian producers from different cultures of the country that will show you how crafts keep the cultural traditions of this charming city alive. In this emblematic street, you can also visit a traditional ice cream shop where you can taste the local flavors of Ecuador and craft workshops of Panama hats and products made with honey.

The last stop will be the Monument to the Middle of the World, the monument that divides the northern hemisphere from the southern hemisphere of the planet. The museum inside is dedicated to interactive exhibits and an explanation of the history of the monument and the equator itself. You'll also enjoy the unique views from the top of the monument!
