This half-day tour is for those who want to get the full glacier experience and go farther onto the ice field than the typical glacier tour. This is a moderate glacier tour in the majestic surroundings of Falljökull. The glacier is hemmed in by some of Iceland´s most spectacular peaks.
The tour begins in Skaftafell Nature Reserve, where you will meet your guide for the day. Once there, you start climing up the Falljökull glacier tongue, traversing through a labyrinth of deep crevasses, ice ridges and ice formations you cannot find anywhere else.
The glacial landscape is constantly evolving, so you never know what to expect, but if you're lucky you might find some ice tunnels or caves to explore.
The full tour takes about 4 hours and you will spend roughly 4 hours on the ice.
