Introducing Rust
Rust is a small town in Southern Germany, in the district of Ortenau in Baden-Wurttemberg. The neighboring cities of Rust are Freiburg, Offenburg and the French city of Strasbourg. The Elz River merges with the Upper Rhine River and borders the city's main and famous attraction, Europa-Park!
Europa Park is the biggest theme park in Germany, and the second most popular theme park in Europe. With 13 roller coasters and over 100 different attractions and shows, Europa Park has something for people of all ages, including adults. Europa Park can accomodate up to 60,000 guests daily and usually has over 5.5 million visitors each year from all over the world. Bring a bathing suit and visit Rulantica, the park's water world.
If you're looking to get away from the theme park atmosphere, you can visit the floodplain wetlands of Taubergießen (Taubergiessen). Enjoy some peace and serenity as you visit the nature reserve. Take a boat tour along the river and see the beautiful sites of this wildlife sanctuary. Taubergießen is home to numerous endangered species and was declared a Natural Reserve in 1979.
Despite the city's small size, Rust has plenty of activities for the whole family and is worth a visit. Spend a fun-filled day at the theme park and finish your night with a delicious dinner at one of the restaurants in the park's themed hotels.
