What to expect

This 1.5-mile walking tour of Salem, Massachusetts, explores the infamous Witch Trials. Along the way, you'll discover important locations and hear local tips while learning how the trials unfolded.

You'll see spots connected to the 1692 trials, including Salem Witch Museum, Old Burying Point Cemetery, the Witch Trials Memorial and more. The tour explores Salem's cultural legacy at the House of Seven Gables, the National Hawthorne Statue, and Hocus Pocus and Bewitched filming sites. Old Town Hall, Salem Common and Mercy Tavern share more of Salem's history, while a loop through the historic streets reveals stories behind Hamilton Hall, Gedney House and Ropes Mansion.

As you walk, directions, tips and suggested stops play automatically for a smoother experience. You'll need at least half a day for the walking tour, with additional time if you want to explore inside the museums and historic homes along the way.
