You’ll balance the thrumming of adrenaline and whitewater rapids by day with the quiet calm of the wilderness by night on this tropical two-day adventure. Kick-start day one with a hearty Costa Rican breakfast before you're whisked away on a scenic morning drive through charming towns and past Cartago, the former capital of the country. After a couple of hours, you'll find yourself at Finca La Cruz, where the rafting team will welcome you and get you briefed, geared up and ready to tackle the untamed waterway that is the Pacuare River.
Put your paddle power to the test on day one with a thrilling six-mile ride down the river rapids. The frothing whitewater tumbles through dense rainforest, so make sure you look up to take in the views on calmer stretches. Midday brings a well-deserved buffet lunch which you’ll tuck into either at the riverside or back at the camp. Then you’ll set off exploring the wild rainforest with your guide. It’s home to an impressive collection of plant and animal life, so look up into the canopy to try and spot monkeys and sloths. As dusk falls, unwind with happy hour drinks and light bites ahead of a candlelit dinner and an unforgettable evening under the stars. Staying overnight in the serene jungle of the Pacuare River is the real cherry on top of this trip.
Rise and shine on day two to the soothing sounds of nature and the smell of freshly brewed local coffee. Go big at the breakfast table to fuel up before plunging back into the Pacuare’s dynamic rapids for another day of adrenaline-fuelled adventure. Your safety kayaker and professional guides will make sure you get the most out of the experience, while always looking after your safety. There’s a breather at lunchtime for a buffet-style meal on the riverbank before your expedition comes to an end. As your heart rate returns to normal, there's time to freshen up and change before making your way back to San José.
