What to expect

Embark on a journey through the enchanting island of Sicily to uncover the grandeur of Etna volcano, the highest active volcano on the European continent.

As you ascend toward Rifugio Sapienza, situated at an elevation of 1900 meters above sea level, your guide will share fascinating insights about this majestic mountain. Once you get there you will enjoy the unique view and the guide will share some interesting facts about the mountain. You'll then reach 2900 mt after a breathtaking ascension to the main crater by cable car and off-road minibus. An Alpine guide or a volcanologist will take you on a guided walk around a crater at the summit.

Not suitable for:

If you suffer from asthma, have a heart condition, are pregnant, or have walking difficulties or a wheelchair, it's not advisable to go up to the 2,900-meter point. A shorter version can be taken without the ascent
