Bertram Wulflam, a 14th-century businessman always pushing the boundaries, made Stralsund one of the strongest and richest cities of the Hanseatic League. Bertram enjoyed his life with parties and many women. The new mayor, however, did not agree with his lifestyle and Bertram had to flee the city to escape prison or the even worse death penalty.
