What to expect

No trip to Sydney is complete without a visit to the Sydney Opera House, the city’s most famous building. And what better to do when visiting the Sydney Opera House than to spend a pleasant evening inside enjoying an opera performance.

The season features some of the world’s favorite operas from composers such as Mozart and Puccini. No matter what sort of entertainment you're in the mood for, there's always an opera to fit the bill.

Typically, performances start at 07:30 PM and run for 2-3 hours, with an interval or 2 to enjoy a drink and the beautiful Sydney harbor view. All performances have full English subtitles projected on a screen above the stage.

What to remember

In light of the evolving COVID-19 situation, the Opera House has made face masks mandatory from this Saturday 2nd January 2021. Mask wearing will be required at all times inside the foyers and theatres for patrons aged 12 and over
A separate email will be sent from Opera Australia with your e-tickets attached, if they don’t arrive please contact the local operator. You will find the contact details on the voucher after booking

Please notes bags will be scanned by the Opera House security. Please travel lightly and do not bring items that require cloaking e.g. handbags bigger than A4-size, backpacks and umbrellas, which are not permitted inside
You’re welcome to bring your own water bottle but no other food and drinks are permitted inside the venue. There are bars where you can purchase refreshments before the show
